I found it very difficult to delete my Google plus profile picture. I am writing the step by step tutorial to help you to delete your unwanted profile picture or other album particular photos.
1. Login to your Google plus account
2. Click on photos from top menu.
3. Select your albums
4. Select profile photos
5. Select the profile picture you want to delete
6. Click option menu in the bottom left hand corner as shown in the picture.
7. Click Delete photo, its done. 
Update:
Old delete option is not available now, instead there is new delete button available now in a toolbar just above your picture. Please check the snapshot below for reference. This new change make more easy to delete your unwanted profile and other pictures.

This worked well-esp after three hours trying to find info, trying and failed. It is very important to join Google+…then you have to find Account Settings in Google+. Then select “delete account and all social connections etc. They will ask for an immediate survey from you as to why. Answer however you want. Then Submit. Simple if you know what, where and how to get into the system.

If you meant http://www.google.com/+/business/ by business page then I guess it is the same way which I mentioned in tutorial for Google+ profile page.

its fine for deleting the photos from the google + but not delete the google + profile pic. Its still there my pic on the profile.
Hi Kushi, As I said in point no.3 select your album, there must be album named profile photos. Please select that album and then the profile picture you wanted to delete. Follow the steps as mentioned in point no.6 to delete it. Let me know if you face any further difficulties after following these steps
I really need help with something. I deleted my Google+ account but it still shows up, along with my picture, when you search my name on Google+. I need this taken down immediatly, any advice would help. Thanks for your time!

There should be a delete option unless the picture is not uploaded by you.
There is no delete option. Atleast not anymore.

I just checked and I can see that icon in my case. Just click the profile picture you want to delete, it will be zoomed and will show you option to delete and edit that particular photo. Please check.
when i click on options, there is only download and photo details. there is no delete option.
